The rise of intensive agriculture
Two events discussing the UK’s industrial agriculture and climate change are being held by the All Party Parliamentary Group on Agroecology.
This autumn the APPG on agroecology is holding two open discussions in Westminster. Both presentations followed be a Q&A and discussion from the floor.
Agriculture, Climate Change and the Paris Agreement
Tuesday 13 November, 4.30-6pm, Committee Room 18, Palace of Westminster
A panel on how industrial agriculture and inefficient carbon-intensive outputs contribute to climate change, and how low input, agroecological farming is a necessity if we’re going to reach our commitments under the Paris Agreement and the Climate Change Act.
The Rise of Intensive Agriculture in the UK
Wednesday 5 September, 4.30pm - 6pm, Committee Room 18, Palace of Westminster.
The panel will discuss the ways in which the rise of intensive agriculture in the UK threatens to irreversibly damage the natural environment, wildlife and the health of the public - and the methods of farming which are needed to prevent environmental degradation whilst ensuring that our supermarkets remain stocked.
