Sustain were pleased to support the launch event - suitably called 'A Place at The Table' with a feast outside DEFRA's London HQ - of the Landworkers Alliance's new report 'Recommendations for Post-Brexit Farm Policy' and their new booklet on small farms.
The launch highlighted the need for small-scale and family farmers to be offered a ‘place at the table’ in upcoming negotiations over the future of UK agriculture policy.
The launch featured the release of The Landworkers Alliance comprehensive 20-page report outlining their key policy proposals for re-orientating agricultural support to deliver high quality food to UK consumers while building an environmentally, socially and economically resilient farming industry. It has supporting data and policy proposals.
You can download the report to see the full list of proposals.
They have also produced an associated detailed booklet which makes the case for supporting small to medium scale farming in post-Brexit farm policy - 'Why we need small farms'.
