Dozens of events and special menus will run across the city between 19th September and the 6th October, providing Londoners unique opportunities to visit hidden places, taste unusual local ingredients or share food with a story about how and why it was made.

The event launches on Thursday 19th September with renowned American author and fermentation expert, Sandor Katz, who will talk about the importance of fermentation and run a demo using produce sourced from London’s larder.

Across the fortnight there will be supper clubs popping up on farms, classes on making your own good food and a chance to taste ‘rare’ sustainable ingredients such as local goat’s milk ice cream, and crayfish caught in London. There will also be London-grown cocktails, a Hackney tea-party and a dive into the future of food.

Sustainable restaurants such as OXO Brassiere and The Table Café will showcase London specials, with others such as offering discounts to people who support the event.

There will also be a number of free and family friendly events across the fortnight in the city’s thriving urban gardens who will host Urban Harvest events in partnership with the Capital Growth food growing network, including the annual Harvest Festival of London’s City Farms.
