Marine Conservation Society
The Marine Conservation Society has been instrumental in the establishment of Sustainable Fish City. It provides the scientific assessment of the sustainability of fish species, stocks and methods of catch or production. These are published as the authoritative 'fish to eat' and 'fish to avoid' lists, offering food businesses, caterers and consumers the opportunity to be better informed about what they buy. The Sustainable Fish City pledge refers to these lists to help people make sense of the simple principle "Avoid the worst; Promote the best; Improve the rest."

Sustainable Fish: A campaign to protect precious marine environments and fishing livelihoods, and call for fish to be bought from sustainable sources. We want to show what can be done if people and organisations make a concerted effort to change their buying habits.
