Cooking up a good food Christmas

Christmas is fast approaching and whether you're looking for a bit of inspiration for menu planning, are hosting your first vegetarian Christmas, or just want to give your skills a festive polish, there are some great classes out there.

Here are a few of our favourites and what’s even better is you can get great discounts on these courses if you are a London Food Link supporter.

Planning a vegetarian Christmas for the first time? Or want help planning the whole menu? Cookery School at Little Portland Street, London’s most sustainable cookery school has classes for this (2 December) and brilliant baking too, so why not enjoy a great day at the school, learn some helpful techniques and classic recipes and boost your Christmas confidence.

Perhaps you fancy a Mediterranean twist to freshen things up. In which case Oliveology has you covered with their Christmas cooking class (1 December - 20% off for supporters - email us for the code ) inspired by the culinary traditions and ingredients of Greece, including fragrant herbs and dried fruit as well as seasonal produce. Meanwhile, our friends at Divertimenti can offer an Italian-inspired sweet Christmas cooking class and if you want to jazz up your side dishes, there’s a Christmas course for that, too (various dates).

If you are looking for inspiration in the gift giving department then treat yourself to a Christmas class at Hen Corner and learn to make home-made treats or a stunning wreath (various dates). Before you get learning, you can visit their hens and bees in their lovely garden in west London. How about making some ferments or homemade cosmetics as gifts, with the help of our friends at Made In Hackney? They are offering LFL supporters 20% off the classes (email us for the code).

If all that’s got you thinking about the gift of good food – you can also buy your food loving friend one of our great gifts or sign them up as a London Food Link supporter for a gift that keeps on giving, with offers, competitions and a range of discounts all year long. Buy before 10 December to get a free tea towel worth £10.
