This summer Capital Growth is joining forces with the Grow Urban Festival to bring food growing to the forefront and demonstrate what a green and climate conscious city London is.

Running in conjunction with Great Big Green Week, the festival platforms innovative changemakers, plant pioneers and earth tenders through a busy programme of workshops, talks and open garden events happening across the city.

London food growers are invited to join the festival by adding an event to the programme.

“The case for urban growing and greening has never been more urgent,” says Sal Chebbah, founder of the Grow Urban Festival and Elysian Roots. “From food insecurity to biodiversity loss, climate instability to social disconnection—urban agriculture offers a living, breathing solution. The festival exists to amplify the people, projects, and partnerships creating real impact across our city.”

Now in its fifth year, Grow Urban Festival has become one of the UK’s most dynamic platforms for reimagining city life through food, fungi, nature, and community power.

With over 30 events across London, from foraging to food justice talks, the festival provides a blueprint for urban renewal.

“Capital Growth has a long history of hosting London-wide festivals of this kind, and we're excited to be teaming up with Elysian Roots and National Park City to create even greater unity between the myriad of brilliant green initiatives across the city.” says Rachel Dring of Capital Growth.

Now is the time to get involved

The week-long festival features more than 30 events—from hands-on workshops and nature walks to expert panels, storytelling sessions, and site visits.

Capital Growth is inviting inspiring changemakers—from grassroots growers and artists to educators, architects, herbalists, and youth advocates—to join the festival by hosting an event.
