UK Government called upon to Make Rio Count in tackling malnutrition

For more than 20 years, Hannah has worked closely with government and community stakeholders to create healthy, economically vibrant food systems. She currently leads a campaign to reduce food poverty in Britain and is coordinator of the Sustainable Food Cities network. Prior to joining Sustain, Hannah managed a U.S. Centers for Disease Control initiative to help local governments make healthy changes in their communities. Previously, she directed the Pennsylvania Fresh Food Financing Initiative, a $120 million public/private initiative to develop new grocery stores in underserved communities. Hannah has also chaired a food policy council, coordinated a hunger relief program, and organised community gardens in deprived areas. She is a member of the London Food Board and an advisor to San Francisco’s Healthy Retail initiative. She holds a master’s degree in planning and policy from Tufts University.
