Latest UK obesity statistics

The House of Commons Library has published a briefing paper on obesity statistics, breaking down the data by age, gender, local authority and deprivation.

The paper shows that a quarter of adults in England are obese with a further 37% overweight. In Scotland obesity rates are higher at 27% while in Wales and Northern Ireland they are lower at 22% and 24% respectively. The figures also show that 10-11 year olds in the most deprived areas are 'much more likely to be obese'.  Support Sustain's Children's Food Campaign
