The 10th annual Sourdough September

As part of this year's celebration, shout louder than usual and 'say no to sourfaux'! Use your voice to promote geniune sourdough, and help people avoid paying a premium for something that simply isn't the real deal.

Another special focus for 2022 is affordability. The Real Bread Campaign believes that everyone should have the chance to choose Real Bread, including genuine sourdough. One obstacle to Real Bread For All is the gap between what it costs a small bakery to make bread and what people in their community on lower incomes can afford. Read how bakeries across London can get involved.

Sourdough pizza

Not that you'd know it from supermarket offerings, but Real Bread can be used as the basis of pizza - after all, it's basically a topped flatbread.

For genuine sourdough pizza, why not head to 400 Rabbits, which has four sites in SE London and is currently the only pizzeria signed up to The Sourdough Loaf Mark scheme.

You can also try Flat Earth Pizzas* in Cambridge Heath, Sodo* in various East London locations, Well Kneaded* in Earlsfield or
