For the whole month of April, Capital Growth is featuring Finchley Central Energy Garden as part of its Spotlight Garden programme.

As part of the programme, we're bringing you an open day on Saturday 23 April from 11am until 2pm

The open day is a chance to:

  • speak directly to the core group of volunteers about how they set up the garden on a disused piece of land on part of London's underground
  • meet Community Engagement Officer, Naomi Paine, and find out more about her inspiring organisation Energy Garden which has supported a whopping 127 community groups to turn thousands of metres of grey space green (not only improving biodiversity but also giving more Londoners a chance to grow their own)
  • Get stuck in with some gardening tasks as part of #GoodToGrow2022

Programme for the day and timings:

  • Visitors are welcome to drop in anytime from 11am until 2pm to talk to the team and see how a station community garden is run
  • Tools and assistance will be provided to anyone wishing to get stuck in and help plant up the new herb bed
  • A chance to learn how to take softwood cuttings of shrubs and herbs and pot up (to take home)
  • A chance to take part in this year's Good To Grow Day, a national day of action to celebrate edible urban gardens

Address:
Platform 3, Finchley Central underground station, London N3 1UX

Booking:
This is a drop-in event so no need to book. Please contact the Capital Growth team for any more info.
