Sustain's Diversity Outreach Coordinator, Sareta Puri, is joining a Food Insecurity panel and hackathon dedicated to learning, collaboration, and action, on Tuesday 3 March from 6-9pm at Corner Corner in London as part of a series of International Women's Day celebrations.
Women in the Food Industry's mission is to empower women, shine a spotlight on what they are doing for the UK food industry and build a supportive community. In 2025 they joined the Sustain alliance, with Co-Founder Mex Ibrahim, stating the intention was to:
collaborate, influence change and ensure women’s voices help shape a fairer, more sustainable food future. We look forward to working alongside fellow change-makers on projects, campaigns and, most importantly, practices that improve the food system for people and planet.
Sareta will be on the panel with Victoria Williams, Director of Sustain alliance member and Sustainable Food Places co-lead organisation Food Matters; Georgie Branch, Head of Programmes at Sustain alliance member School Food Matters; Carly McGoldrick, Head of Partnership & Impact at Food Bank Aid UK; and Sarah Bentley, Founder of Made in Hackney.
They will each share insights, lived experience, and bold ideas on how the industry can step up and create lasting change.
At the event, there will also be a food insecurity hackaton where attendees will be invited to turn inspiration into action. They will collaborate with fellow attendees in small groups to explore challenges, generate ideas, and propose practical solutions.
This event is for anyone who wants to be part of building a more just and inclusive food system - from entrepreneurs and operators to creatives, activists, and allies.
This is one of four events to mark International Women's Day with other events in London, Surrey and the North West.
Get tickets for this event and find out about others in the series on the Women in the Food Industry website.
