The Food Ethics Council is hosting a free online webinar 12 November, calling on those who work in food and farming systems change in the UK to feed into the development of the census survey, going out later this year.

The Food Issues Census will map the landscape of diverse organisations working on food and farming in the UK - including who is working on what, where the gaps in capacity are, and where opportunities for greater collective impact are.

Crucially, this will provide funders with a common picture of civil society needs and capacity.

The census survey is being co-created with civil society. Food Ethics Council wants to know: what questions should they be asking? What insights would help organisations to feel more connected, understood and resourced?

Anyone working on food and farming within the nonprofit/civil society ecosystem is encouraged to join.

The Food Ethics Council is committed to bringing in the experiences of a genuinely diverse range of organisations to this project. We know that diverse communities, from Black and People of Colour (BPOC) to working class communities, LGBTQIA+ folks, neurodivergent people and people with disabilities are vastly under-represented in the food, farming and environment sectors. We also know that there is incredible work being done by diverse groups on the ground, which is often overlooked and under-resourced within the sector. We particularly encourage participants from marginalised communities who can share knowledge and experiences of being involved in the nonprofit food and farming space.
