Nourish Scotland calls on political parties to guarantee Scottish powers

Nourish Scotland wants all parties contesting the election to safeguard the powers that would allow the country to pursue a more sustainable food policy.

New Sustain observer member Nourish Scotland has produced a list of 'four key asks' for political parties contesting the General Election. They are:
  1. No centralisation or watering down of devolved competencies on food and agriculture;
  2. Full access and entitlements for migrant food workers;
  3. Devolution of the power to set minimum wages;
  4. Devolution of reserved social security powers, including the power to protect or increase benefits that help people to access adequate, healthy diets.
Nourish Scotland is a food justice NGO advocating for a fairer, healthier and more sustainable food system. Find out more about the organisation and its election asks here. Read Sustain's manifesto for a Better Food Britain, and support us, here.
