Make the most of summer gardening

Garden Organic's summer programme offers courses on topics from composting to wormeries, sessions giving carers 'thyme' to garden, a Seed Festival -- and don't forget 7-13 May is International Compost Awareness Week.

Sustain member Garden Organic has a busy schedule of activities planned for the summer. There are teaching sessions on all manner of sustainable gardening skills, including soil health, setting up wormeries and composting.

More unusually, Garden Organic is running growing sessions for carers in the Coventry / Warwickshire areas. The 'Thyme to be' sessions include practical activities such as propagating plants and sowing seeds, and are designed to be flexible, so participants can drop in or stay all day. Refreshments are provided, and transport and replacement care are available from Carers Trust Heart of England (limited availability).

Garden Organic is also supporting a Seed Festival, celebrating ecology and the arts, with speakers, workshops, films and volunteering opportunities. And last but not least, Garden Organic reminds us that May 7-13 is International Compost Awareness week. Find information about all this and more here
