Shortlists announced for 2016 food writing prizes

New talents and familiar faces are in the running for the Guild of Food Writers annual awards

The Guild of Food Writers has announced the shortlists for its annual awards for food writing and broadcasting.
 
The categories cover food journalism, food books, recipe books, and food and travel writing, and include special awards for outstanding achievements.
 
The shortlists highlight emerging talent as well as featuring some well-known food writers and broadcasters, including Lindsey Bareham, Joanna Blythman, Felicity Cloake, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Rick Stein and Bee Wilson.
 
The winners will be announced on 22 June at a ceremony in London, where each will be presented with a trophy and a prize of £500. Tickets for the event are available via the website.
