New growers can check out 'Organic food growing for beginners' on 1 April at St Luke's Community Centre in Islington, while more experienced green thumbs may be interested in 'Introduction to social and therapeutic horticulture' happening at De Frene Market Garden in Sydenham on 31 May.
Training sessions are taught by passionate and experienced London growers, and designed to give participants practical tools to take back to their own gardens. Sessions fall into one of four categories: Urban food growing to teach the basics, Growing enterprise for those who want to sell what they grow, Get children growing to help people working with children outdoors, and Grow for it!, a chance to learn about more unusual topics related to urban gardening.
