Help shape the future of funding for food and farming - survey closes 17 January.

The Food Issues Census, for which Sustain is a key partner, is now open for responses. The aim is to provide a collective tool for understanding UK civil society’s work on food and farming, including who’s working on what and what the key needs and challenges for the sector are.
Crucially, this is an opportunity to share organisations' priorities with funders and shape the landscape of funding for food and farming.
The Food Issues Census will illuminate the diverse organisations and communities that are working and organising around food and farming in the UK.
The survey wants to know what you’re working on, what issues you feel are most important, how you’re funded, and what you need in order to meet the challenges of today.
The Census will provide a trusted-reference point for funders to better understand the food and farming sector, including what the key issues are and where the gaps in capacity are. This will allow funders to more effectively and strategically target resources.
The insights gathered will be available as both raw data and a detailed report. This will not only be used by funders, but will be useful to participating organisations - to support your decision-making, advocacy, partnerships and funding proposals.
By mapping out the different projects, niches, needs and resources across the four UK nations, the Census will also provide fertile ground for connections and collaborations where these don’t yet exist.
Take part today - The Food Issues Census survey is open for responses until 17 January 2025.
We are committed to bringing in the experiences of a genuinely diverse range of organisations to this project. To address barriers to participation, we have established the Food Issues Census Inclusion Fund. Please read more about the fund and how you can apply here.
