Friends of the Earth suggest the following steps:

  1. Avoid products from companies that are behind the deforestation – be particularly watchful of beef and soy products from the Amazon.
  2. Under Brazil’s President Bolsonaro the rate of Amazon destruction and the threat to indigenous people has dramatically increased. Please sign this parliamentary petition to demand that the UN and EU sanction Brazil to halt increased deforestation of the Amazon.
  3. Getting together with others can be a useful outlet and a way to organise for change. You could start by looking to see if there’s a Climate Action group near you.
