Milk from certified grass fed cows now available

Pasture for Life have started to certify dairy farmers who produce milk from cows that only ever eat grass and pasture.

Most dairy cows in the UK are fed grain so that they can produce many thousands of litres of milk. Pasture for Life (which is a member of Sustain) has shown the health benefits of grass fed beef and dairy.

Following a pilot project last year, which showed that costs of production were lower than conventionally farmed dairy herds, the Pasture Fed Livestock Association are currently in talks with 26 other UK dairy farmers about becoming certified ‘Pasture for Life’. Once they are certified you will be able to find them on the Pasture for Life map.
