Market Research or Community Needs Assessment?

Typically, a new business will carry out market research to assess the viability of a new product or service through research. The aim will typically be for financial gain.

In a community context, for social purposed projects, we often refer to this as a community needs assessment. The aim will typically be a social gain.

In this section we will outline the tools typically used for both methodologies:

Good Food Enterprise: Working to provide food that is good for people and the planet, and support local production playing a part in community beyond trading.
