Join Hélèna Dove for this session on 'How to grow for Climate Change' to get ready for the growing year and beyond. With an ever changing climate, we need to adapt the way we grow and cultivate our productive gardens. Starting with a look at the changing issues faced by growers, this session will look at techniques for dealing with the unknown. Understanding how climate change is effecting the growing area and how the gardener can plan for resilience to deal with the fluctuating weather.

Covering topics such as crop choice, planting methods and how to manage when it all seems to go wrong. A changing climate brings with it new opportunities, from longer growing seasons to warmer summers, adapting now can mean flourishing in the future.

Trainer: Hélèna Dove

Hélèna is a kitchen gardener working in London, with a focus on experimenting with new crops and techniques. Trained in a historic setting, she has a strong passion for heritage vegetables and also specialises in trained fruit and orchard management.

Currently Hélèna manages a kitchen garden at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. All the produce is organically grown using a no-dig system on the beds. The harvests are used within the onsite kitchens and sold to the public.
