Wednesday 24 May 2023 18:00 20:00

In the first of our new free beginner food growing sessions in partnership with The Royal Parks, we'll be exploring the soil: what type do you have, what makes it healthy, and how can we improve its fertility?

We're very pleased to announce an exciting new collaboration with our friends at The Royal Parks to launch a free beginner food growing session series taking place at Regent’s Park Allotment Garden.

First up in this series aimed at food growing beginners, we'll be diving into the world of soil health with Ruth Robinson. Join us on Wednesday 24 May from 6-8pm with Ruth for this interactive twilight session where we’ll explore different facets of our soil and what makes it healthy. Together, we’ll also look at how to tell what type of soil you have, whether it has nutrients and how supporting your soil life improves fertility – a key to growing healthy, fresh food successfully!

Trainer bio
Ruth is passionate about helping people interact with nature in a helpful way and encouraging people to grow their own food. She's a Permaculture Diploma holder and community gardener who has been learning over the years how vital healthy soil is to our food supply and our future.

This event is free with access to toilets and sheltered indoor space if needed. Tea, coffee and biscuits will also be offered to attendees during the session break.

To attend, you must register via The Royal Parks ticket balloting system for the chance to win a free ticket. Once you have entered the ballot, you will find out whether you have been successful or not via email a week before the session date. Good luck!

Please head over to The Royal Parks event page here to register before 10am on the 16th of May.
