We believe every child deserves the best start in life, and having access to healthy, inclusive, and sustainable food in the early years is key to this. We want your insight to help shape this work and make a real difference for children.

That's why we have set up a new parent advisory group in collaboration with Early Years Food Coalition (EYFC) to ensure parents’ voices are represented in policies concerning the early years sector.

We're now recruiting for parents and primary caregivers with children currently attending nurseries, childminders or other childcare settings. Read on for more information and how you can get involved.

What is the Parent Advisory Group?
It is an initiative of the Early Years Food Coalition (EYFC), being co-ordinated jointly by Bremner & Co and Sustain's Children's Food Campaign, with support from our funder Impact on Urban Health.

The EYFC has been working with charities, schools, researchers, and local councils to gather evidence and push for better nutrition in childcare and early education. But parents’ and carers’ experience is vitally important. We want your insight to help shape this work and make a real difference for children.

As a member of the group, you will have the opportunity to share your experience and ideas with other parents and carers, give feedback, and help guide important decisions within the Coalition. Your experiences will help us understand the real challenges families face when it comes to healthy and sustainable food in childcare. At the same time, this is an opportunity for you to influence policy and practice in early years settings and help make a real difference for children.

If you are a parent or carer with a child in childcare (eg nursery, professional childminder, of with a child who has very recently moved into Reception), and are interested in being part of this exciting group, then we want to hear from you!

Find out more about what's involved and whether it's right for you here.
