Beyond 2024 A new horizon for the agri-food system is a new briefing outlining the Alliance's vision and policies for UK farming. The UK Government should be aiming to de-risk the transition to agroecological farming and drive better food trading to deliver the vision.
This new briefing is a collaboration with Sustain members who represent and champion agroecological farming, better supply chains, and a fair food system. We set out a vision for a fairer, sustainable and resilient agri-food system, summarise the values and objectives that should underpin policies, and set out why food and farming must be top of the political agenda.
Commitments on food and farming must be built on sustainability and resilience, nature and climate goals, high animal welfare systems, fairer food trading, transparency, multifunctional land use, and a robust agri-food system.
We set out what this could look like and offer key policy recommendations.
