Food for the Planet

Lily is a climate justice campaigner who works in the Climate and Nature Emergency team at Sustain. Until the end of 2023, she was working as the Local Action Officer as part of the Sustainable Food Places, a network of 111 food partnerships across the UK. 

Lily recently joined the prestigious Bertha challenge cohort as part of the 2024 fellowship programme, where she aims to expose the polluting and undemocratic practices of agribusinesses linked to factory farming in the UK, and empower local communities to challenge them. She graduated with a Masters in Law and Gender studies from SOAS with Distinction, during which she spent time in Tunisia researching the gendered exploitation of labour towards women farm workers in the informal agricultural economy. She believes in a just food system that values local communities, animal life, environmental health, and democratic integrity.
