Food industry trade organisation the Food and Drink Federation has produced a 'manifesto' of the five policies it wants the next Government to prioritise during the Brexit negotiations.
The priorities include:
- Securing a smooth transition and avoiding a 'cliff edge';
- Recognising that tackling obesity requires a mix of approaches -- so the industry wants a promise that there will be no further nutrient taxes;
- Boosting exports;
- Fostering 'home-grown' talent;
- An industrial strategy that will drive 'transformational' growth
