Supermarkets respond to milk protests

The UK supermarket sector has responded to pressure from dairy farmers and activists - Lidl, Aldi, Morrisons and Asda have all agreed to increase the amount they pay for milk.

Asda, Aldi and Lidl said they would pay processors 28p a litre, while Morrisons will pay 26p a litre. However, according to the NFU, this is still below the price of production which currently stands at 30p a litre.
