Dear Minister,

Re: Options for Reform of the Common Agricultural Policy

Thank you for inviting us to comment on the Reform options. This is a joint response of the Sustain and the UK Food Group Agriculture and Trade Working party, which has been consulting over the past two months. As we have not had time (given the Cancun Summit and harvest time!) to allow members to formally endorse this paper, this represents synthesis of their comments and is not formally endorsed by any one member.

The attached comprises general and specific comments on the reform proposals and would welcome the chance to discuss these with you at the earliest opportunity.

Yours sincerely,

Vicki Hird (Sustain)
Rachel Sutton (UK Food Group)
