News: Saving the environment is more important to farmers than subsidising food productivity - reveals new research
Sustain were one of 26 organisations supporting a new survey of farmers which revealed that a healthy environment is a key business asset for four out of five farmers. It also showed that a third aren’t taking environmental action and that lack of access to capital, a harsh market, and uncertainty over Brexit are big barriers. Farmers and nature experts are united in a call to the Government for an ambitious agriculture policy which must have the environment at its heart.

News: Campaigners call for ban on child friendly cartoons on unhealthy food packaging
Over 500 food and drink products with child-friendly cartoon animations on their packaging are shockingly high in fat, salt or sugar, according to new research conducted by Action on Sugar and Action on Salt in partnership with the Children's Food Campaign. Campaigners are calling on food manufacturers to ban their use on unhealthy foods and #MakeCartoonsHealthy instead.

Child health should be election issue, says the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH). It said there was large public support for junk food advertising bans, cooking lessons in school and lowering speed limits. [BBC] The survey results have been cleverly displayed in a series of images on Buzzfeed.
The RCPCH has made a series of policy recommendations ahead of the next general election aimed at improving children's health - for more details see their 'Vision 2015' document.
