Middlesbrough Food Partnership
The Food Power Alliance (a sub-group of the Food Partnership) was formed in 2018 as a direct response to local need with the aim to address and reduce food poverty issues facing the people of Middlesbrough. The Alliance is run by its members and sub-groups are established to address key priorities. Meetings are held 4 times a year. MEC provide a Secretariat and Chair for the Partnership.

Ensuring all residents have physical access to good food | |
Supporting alternative retail, e.g. community shops, cooperatives | |
Promoting breastfeeding initiatives to boost the health of infants and mothers |
Developing a food poverty needs assessment (October 2018)
Working in partnership with Middlesbrough Council Public Health and Teesside University to map the extent of food poverty in Middlesbrough.
