Join the Sustainable Food Places Network for a webinar exploring how food partnerships can be a key tool for local food systems change, ideal for councils that are new to food partnerships.

This webinar will be explore the advantages of having a local food partnership for councils which can work across the food system to address challenges such as improving health outcomes, reducing food insecurity, improving accessibility and affordability, and supporting local economic growth.

Local food partnerships have become an increasingly widespread feature in places across the UK. The membership of the Sustainable Food Places Network has over 120 local food partnerships, and many newly formed partnerships are seeking to join the network. These partnerships are hosted by, or share close links with, local government bodies and are often closely aligned in their priorities, particularly public health. They bring together stakeholders across sectors to establish a vision and work plan for transforming the food system in their local area and coordinate the action to make this vision a reality. Many go on to establish a long-term food strategy for the local area, in close collaboration with the local authority.

You can look forward to a stellar panel of speakers, including:

  • Helen Starr-Keddle, Deputy Director, Food Matters, Sustainable Food Places (SFP)
  • Sam Dyer, CEO, Cambridge Food Partnership
  • John Wilcox, Wakefield City Council and Wakefield District Good Food Partnership
  • Andy Gold, Head of Food Strategy, London Borough of Newham
  • Cllr Emily O'Brien, Vice Chair of the Local Government Association (LGA) Neighbourhoods Committee
