It’s important that children get enough to drink, but soft drinks are often high in calories, and regular consumption of soft drinks is linked to childhood obesity and tooth decay and erosion. It can also lead to children developing a taste for sweet products.
Public health advice is clear that water is the best option, but bottled water is expensive and the energy and packaging used in its production is damaging to the environment.
We’re campaigning for drinking water to be made available in parks and other public places, and challenging the food industry’s incessant soft drinks marketing.
