Children have little hope of developing healthy diets, and maximising their chances of living healthy lives, when they are brought up in an environment where junk food is the norm. The Children’s Food Campaign is working hard to change this.
In particular, we’re calling for:
- Children to be protected from junk food marketing – on TV, online and everywhere else they’re exposed to commercial influences.
- Good food in schools – food served in all schools should be healthy, and accessible to all pupils.
- Real food education – a chance to learn what a healthy diet is and how to prepare it, as well as where food comes from.
- Clear food labelling – to help parents make healthy food choices, and teach children about making them.
- Drinking water in parks – and other public places, available free of charge so that all children don’t have to resort to soft drinks if they’re thirsty when out and about.
Children's Food Campaign: Campaigning for policy changes so that all children can easily eat sustainable and healthy food.
