Too many children in the UK have poor diets. They consume too little fruit and vegetables, and too much of foods high in fat, salt and sugar.
Children’s poor diet is contributing to health problems such as obesity and tooth decay, and increasing their risk of developing diseases such heart disease, cancer, diabetes and stroke in later life. Poor diet can also affect children’s behaviour and ability to learn.
