Food Co-ops & Box Schemes
Through the Buywell project, London Food Link helped six groups to set up new food co-ops in Well London areas:
- White City Food Co-op, Phoenix School, Hammersmith & Fulham.
Run by Phoenix School Farm and Learning Zone. - Woodbery Down Food Co-op, Woodberry Down Community School, Hackney.
Run by East London Food Access. - Bellingham Food Co-op, St Augustines Primary School, Lewisham
Run by Sage Education Trust and Downham Nutrition Partnership. - South Acton Food Co-op, Oaktree Community Centre, South Acton estate, Ealing
Run by Action Acton. - Larkhall Food Co-op, 110 Union Road, Lambeth
- Run by Aardvark Recyling Ltd.
- Hounslow West Box Scheme, SureStart Hub, Cranford, Hounslow
Run by SureStart Hounslow.
The food co-ops are run by volunteers and open to everyone to buy their weekly supply of fresh, affordable fruit and vegetables. Buywell also supported existing food co-ops in Queens Park, Hind Grove and Canning Town North to market their services and improve their operations.
