Manifesto for a post-Brexit food industry

The Food and Drink Federation's five-point proposal calls, among other things, for a Government promise that there will be no more nutrient taxes.

Food industry trade organisation the Food and Drink Federation has produced a 'manifesto' of the five policies it wants the next Government to prioritise during the Brexit negotiations.

The priorities include:
  • Securing a smooth transition and avoiding a 'cliff edge';
  • Recognising that tackling obesity requires a mix of approaches -- so the industry wants a promise that there will be no further nutrient taxes;
  • Boosting exports;
  • Fostering 'home-grown' talent;
  • An industrial strategy that will drive 'transformational' growth
