Sustain shortlisted in three categories for Charity Times awards 2018

Sustain is shortlisted for its work on Brexit (PR Team category), SUGAR SMART (Campaigning Team category) and for the Children's Health Fund (Corporate Partnership with a Retailer category). The winners will be announced on 3 October 2018.

Sustain's work on Brexit has been shortlisted for the PR Team category of the Charity Times Awards 2018. Sustain is responding to the result of the EU Referendum by coordinating organisations who work on the environment, health, trade, animal welfare, farming, fishing, workers’ rights, food safety, and economy to cultivate a shared voice for better food, fishing and farming. The shortlisting wa a result of high profile press coverage and impactful campaigning. 

SUGAR SMART (shortlisted for Campaigning Team category) is a campaign run by Sustain ad set up with the help of Jamie Oliver. As he feature campaign of hte Sustainable Food Cities network over 2017 - 2018, we have helped local authorities, organisations, workplaces and individuals to reduce the amount of sugar we all consume. To date, the campaign has worked with almost 30 local areas and had almost 1000 organisations taking action.

The Children's Health Fund (shortlisted for Corporate Partnership with a Retailer category) was a collaboration between Sustain, Jamie's Italian, LEON, Abokado, Tortilla and over 100 restaurants to pilot a sugary drinks levy. It pioneered a sugary drinks levy on soft drinks working with over 100 restaurant outlets in the UK to raise money for children's projects. The money raised was granted to over 50 projects across the UK improving children's health. It ran from Autumn 2015 through to April 2018, when with the introduction of the Soft Drinks Industry Levy, we have passed the baton on to Government.
