A new study released at the launch of the 68th World Health Assembly in Geneva suggests that most people are unaware of the major impact unhealthy diets are having on global public health.
The Consumers International (CI) poll found that most people underestimate the number of deaths related to unhealthy diets which is currently estimated at more than 11.3 million per year, according to the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation. Amanda Long, Director-General of Consumers International said
"Our survey suggests that few people understand the scale of the health crisis we are facing."
