Lord Whitty visits the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Trust

On the 9th February Food and Farming Minister Lord Whitty visited the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Trust to learn about how local and organic food will be available in the hospital via the 'Hospital Food Project'.
On the 9th February Food and Farming Minister Lord Whitty visited the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Trust to learn about how local and organic food will be available in the hospital via the 'Hospital Food Project'.

Lord Whitty met Mike Duckett, Catering Manager and Head of Nutrition, at the Royal Brompton, and  toured of the hospital kitchen, which  displayed a range of the type of food which will be available within the project, including fresh fruit and vegetables.

Mike Duckett stated:  "The team at Royal Brompton is excited about participating in the London Food Link project.  By increasing access to local suppliers we can help to promote health by providing fresher, seasonal foods for our patients."

Good Food on the Public Plate: Good Food on the Public Plate (GFPP) provided a wide range of assistance to a diverse cross-section of London's public sector organisations including local authorities, hospitals, universities and care homes, to enable them to use more sustainable food in their catering.
