Preston Food Partnership

Our aim is to 1. Establish an Educational Food Hub in Preston which includes a pay-as-you-feel café and training centre to help people out of food poverty by providing employment opportunities, budgeting advice, cooking skills, etc; 2. Provide access to affordable, sustainable food and its comprising background information, a searchable database of local resources and case studies; 3. Raise awareness around food waste and poverty issues by holding events (e.g. Disco Soups) to engage the public.

Members: We have about 20 members including: Preston City Council, Lancashire and Region Dietary Education Resource, University of Central Lancashire, Fareshare, Lancashire Wildlife Trust, NHS, Gateway, several community and voluntary organisations including Intact, Creativity Works, local Food Champions. We meet every 6-8 weeks and our average attendance is about 10 people at each meeting
