A year in London’s food gardens: Capital Growth network survey findings 2022-2023 summarises the responses of 102 people representing food growing projects. This survey of network members was undertaken during March 2023 and the questions cover details on the members’ garden, their challenges, Capital Growth’s support, and views on what the future focus of the network could be.

Themes of the survey findings include how gardens provide training and education opportunities, how they are working towards accessibility and inclusion goals, the need for more funding and the role and value of Capital Growth as a network.

What next for the network in 2024?

Members priorities for Capital Growth were:

  • Supporting the Right to Grow campaign (61%)
  • Ways for the network / gardens to support anti-racism in food growing and platforming food growing initiatives led by Black People and People of Colour (48%)
  • More indicators to demonstrate their impacts on biodiversity and climate change (36%)
  • Engaging councils (34%)
