Breads that meet our criteria



Gold Star. To attain the gold standard for real bread, the product must meet the following criteria

  • made from made from flour, water, yeast and salt (optional)
  • made without 'improvers', additives or processing aids (including enzymes)
  • made with other natural food ingredients such as nuts, fruits, vegetables and fats, only if these themselves contain no additives
  • not made only using refined white flour
  • fermented for a minimum of four hours
  • mixed, fermented and baked in one continuous operation
