Organic Wake-up declared a success

Organic Trade Board hails successful event to highlight the importance of independent retailers in organic sector.

Sustain member the Organic Trade Board reports that this year's Wake up to Organic event exceeded expectations, with independent  retailers, cafes and brands all over the UK helping customers to start the day with a healthy and tasty organic breakfast.

The aim was to spread the word about the quality and variety of organics available through independent retailers,  and to put suppliers, retailers and customers in contact.

First-time participant Victoria Meek, co-owner at Gratitude Tree Grocers in Brighton, said 'We took part to raise the profile of our shop, shout about organic and just to be part of something that is national. It’s been really nice connecting with other businesses. It’s fantastic and was really easy to take part.'

The OTB is already planning next year's event, which will take place on 14 June 2017. To find out more or take part, email annie@organictradeboard.co.uk.
