Feature on the 'Eel

The beloved Jellied Eel is our way of sharing news, stories and experiences from the fantastic enterprises and individuals who are making our city a better place to eat, enjoy and celebrate good food. 

If you have a story to tell, something to celebrate, or an opinion on an issue you care passionately about you’d like to share, please follow the instructions below and tell us about it. We’ll then be in touch to co-create your feature for our website, which we’ll share far and wide.

Writing a guest blog

For an opinion piece, an update from your enterprise / business or project, or your reflection on the good food agenda, write a guest blog.

Make sure you include:

• A title
• An introduction (no more than 40 words)
• Main body (500-800 words max)
• Links to your project, business, profile, so people can find out more
• And images – high res, with info of who to credit, and make sure these work on a 3:2 scale (e.g. 1200 x 800 and are not smaller than 600x400).

Sharing a news story

For something timely – an announcement, award, funding update, special event, or launch of report, share a news story.  

Make sure you include:

• A title
• An introduction (no more than 40 words)
• Main body (350 words max)
• A supportive quote
• Links to your project, business, profile, so people can find out more.
• And images – high res, with info of who to credit, and make sure these work on a 3:2 scale (e.g. 1200 x 800 and are not smaller than 600x400).

Co-creating a longer feature with us

• Got a colleague, team mate or local champion to celebrate? Or keen to share your journey into good food? Work with us on a Roots to Work feature.
• Are you an author, writer, book publisher or collaborator on a good food book? Then a Reader’s corner is for you. 
• Interested in doing an interview with us? We’ll write questions for you to answer. 

Featuring in the Jellied Eel Starter

Want help promoting your event, class, workshop or supperclub? Share it on the Jellied Eel Starter! 

Make sure you include:

• Name of the event
• Date of the event
• One liner describing the event
• Cost of the event
• A link to the event
• Any other useful info (i.e if there's a closing date for sign ups)
