Boroughs are awarded points based on their progress in each measure.

• 2 points are awarded for achieving the top award for Food for Life Served Here
• 1.5 points are awarded for achieving the top award for Baby Friendly, Food Growing, London Living Wage, Sustainable Fish, Animal Welfare, SUGAR SMART and Food Culture in Schools.
• 1 point is awarded for achieving the top award for Fairtrade, Healthier Catering and Local Food Partnerships.

The overall score (%) is a combined calculation of all eleven measures.

When a measure is only based on action taken by the local council then the map key refer to ‘councils’ (e.g. London Living Wage or Sustainable Fish). When a measure accounts for action taken by the council as well as other organisations operating in the local authority area (e.g. contract caterers or the NHS), then the map key refers to ‘boroughs’ (e.g. Fairtrade or Food for Life Served Here).

We also note that the City of London is a smaller borough with different infrastructure. On some issues, therefore, the City of London may have had less opportunity to take action on good food.
