Young Marketeers Winter Sale - LondonFour schools from Southwark are setting up shop in Borough Market on Tuesday 4th Feb, selling their delicious soup made from surplus veg. All the money raised on the day will go to FareShare, a charity which distributes surplus food to local community groups. Our Young Marketeers get the opportunity to develop their sales and marketing skills alongside market traders, and learn to value food more and waste it less at the same time. CPD - Garden Mental Health Programme - Shepherd's Bush. LondonSchools play a vital role in promoting positive mental health. We have an opportunity to provide support and interventions in a variety of ways, but one that is under used is the school garden to provide a positive environment and as part of targeted intervention. This training will look at some background into the issues that secondary schools are having with mental health resilience and then introduce the social and therapeutic use of horticulture as a tool that can be used, including case studies of how this has worked in other schools. You will undertake some practical activities yourself and examine the logistics and with practical tips on how to set up activities like these, including how to get funding to support them.
