The Real Bread Campaign will be back at the festival in 2011 for the third year in a row, launching Real Bread Maker Week and laying a trail of Real Breadcrumbs throughout the show. Watch this space for more details.
"The Real Food Festival is more than a just a food event or farmers’ market. It’s packed with events for the whole family and provides a unique platform for hundreds of smaller producers for whom attendance at such shows is normally too costly and unrealistic. The Festival selects the best small producers it can find and subsidises their attendance, thus giving them a fabulous opportunity to grow their businesses and offering visitors a one to one introduction to Britain’s real food heroes."In addition to offering Real Bread Campaign members an exclusive ticket discount, our good friends at the Real Food Festival allowed us to lay a trail of Real Breadcrumbs through last year's event.
Here are some of the Real Bread highlights from 2010.
The Festival Loaf
Visit the fabulous Real Bread bakers at the festival, sample their nominated loaves and then cast your vote at the Real Bread Campaign stand. The one with the most votes at the end of the weekend will be crowned Real Food Festival Loaf 2010.
The Real Bread Swap Shop
Drop off or pick up an unwanted bread machine; give details of or ask for courses, equipment, skill sharing on our offers and wants board
Other crumbs
…and we’re in talks with celebrity chefs about them sharing a Real Bread secret or two in the demo kitchen.
For the latest details on the trail of Real Breadcrumbs, keep an eye on The Real Baker-e and @RealBread on Twitter.
