Urban Food Awards entry opens

It’s time for London’s good food champions to enter the third annual Urban Food Awards.

Run by the Mayor of London, London Food Link and Borough Market, the Urban Food Awards go beyond your average foodie gong fest. In addition to great taste, they throw the spotlight on the good food practices and people behind the products.

The categories are:

  • Londoners’ Loaf
  • Heavenly Honey
  • Beautiful Brew
  • London Leaves
  • Proper Preserves
  • Roots to Work
  • Capital Growth’s Growing Enterprise
  • Best Retailer
  • Sustainable Street Food
  • Most Inspiring Producer

Entries close on 31 May and then Londoners can vote from 6 June to 4 July. Entrants with the most votes in each category will be shortlisted for the UFA judging panel to choose the winners.

To be eligible in the produce categories, food/drink must be grown or produced in a London borough by an enterprise with 50 employees or fewer and available to buy.

As well as great tasting food and drink, the judges will be looking for enterprises that operate in line with Sustain’s good food guidelines.

Winners will be announced at the Urban Food Feast on 21 September at Borough Market and featured in London Food Link’s Jellied Eel magazine.

Full details and link to the entry form can be found on the London Food Link website.
