Two dates for sustainable growers

As farms and plots come back to life after winter, two gatherings showcase best practice and offer the chance to learn from experts

On 28 June, Agricology is holding its first Open Day at Daylesford Farm in the Cotswolds. Agricology is an online platform that promotes best practice in sustainable farming 'regardless of labels', based on leading research and shared expertise. Established last year, it is run by the Daylesford Foundation in collaboration with the Organic Research Centre and the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust, with support from a raft of other organisations. At the event, a farm tour will be followed by workshops on all aspects of the farm's activities, including dairy, cereals, renewables and the market garden, with an overview in the morning and more detailed, break-out sessions in the afternoon. Book here.

And the Permaculture Association will hold this year's 'Convergence' over the weekend 2-4 September, at the Nellbank Centre in Ilkley in Yorkshire. Permaculture is a design system that works with nature -- it covers all areas of life, with food growing playing an important part. The Convergence brings experienced Permaculturists together with beginners and those who are simply interested in finding more out about the Permaculture way of thinking. The event offers workshops, practical sessions, project case studies, Diploma presentations, networking, exhibitions, guided walks and creative activities. Find out more or book here.
