Grants are open to any organizations working with disadvantaged children and young people who are 18 years old and under based in the UK. Small grants of £10,000 or les per year for 3 years and main grants over £10,000 per year for three years.

Grants available between £50 to £250 of B&Q material for schools, community groups and charitable organizations which are working on sustainable projects. Applicants need to get in contact with either the environmental champion or the store manager in their local store.

Comic Relief

Funding is available for projects which work in the UK. Main focus of this year are projects which deal with mental health, domestic and sexual abuse, refugee and asylum seeking women, local communities and young people (aged 11-25). Funding is available across the UK and the organization is keen on supporting rural projects. Grants on average are £25,000 to £40,000 per year.

Grants of £500 to £3000 are available to agencies that work in Scotland with the aim of improving access to and take up of a healthy lifestyle. All applicants must tackle one or more of the barriers to healthy eating so this is availability, affordability, skills and culture. Applications will begin again in April 2011.

Growing Communities: Community spaces programme

Funds community groups who want to improve local green spaces such as play areas, community gardens, parks, wildlife areas and village greens. Grants start at £10,000. Large funding bids (£100,001 - £450,000) are closed. Small and medium sized bids (up to £49,999) are available on a rolling basis until 2011.

Supports projects which work in deprived areas and aims to help people most in need. The trust rarely gives money to charities in Northern Ireland and London (if the project benefits only Londoners). There are two types of grants. Major grants are for charities that operate national and are restricted to charities whose annual income is less that £50 million. Minor grants are for charities who work at a local level. This is restricted to charities whose annual income is less than £400,000. Preference will be given to charities working in areas of severe deprivation.
